Is it just me or did Good Friday just totally sneak up on us? What a crazy last few months it sure has been. This year is a little different than years in the past. I am sure missing my studio in Missouri right about now. I was just sitting here thinking about the year I purchased chickens and rented rabbits for a fun Easter Special Celebration in my studio. So many beautiful children came in and had soooo much fun and really that is all that matters. I thought in honor of Easter I would post some pictures from previous years! Starting with this past year which you will find an image to the left of the most precious little gift God could have blessed our family with.. my niece Lillian Grace.
Now it is time to get all geeky on you. I wanted to give you some tips on how to improve your easter pictures if you are snapping them yourself this year.
Tip 1: The first tip I want to give you is to avoid any harsh lighting. Go outside but make sure to find a shady place where the shadows won't be as bad.
Tip 2: Position your family in the shade but towards the most light. This will give the faces of your subjects less hard shadows under the eyes and will help highlight them a little bit better. You definitely don't want to shoot into the sun because if you don't know what you are doing you will end up with Sun Flares and your family will be blown out.
Tip 3: HAVE FUN! Take a few formal pictures, but lets be honest the best pictures are the ones you didn't even mean to take. So laugh and play around and create memories.
Hope these tips help you a little when getting those great pictures on the day of Easter all dressed up in your Sunday Best!
I will for sure be posting pictures of my family Sunday afternoon. Especially of Lillian.. who happens to be the most beautiful part of our family of course.
