Today we finally released my fathers newest collection of jewelry! Bloom by John Wade was inspired by my  absolutely precious niece Lillian Grace. Each hand engraved sterling silver cuff has a different flower featured on it. As of now we have a collection of four different styles. I hope you can stop into our store soon and check out the collection in person!

Now for a little geek talk.

Taking pictures of jewelry is no piece of cake. When I first started my business my specialty of course was and really still is portraiture. I love taking pictures of people! Now with a new part of my job I have had to really learn how to do macro. The images below (of the jewelry) were taken inside. Normally I would try to use a room with white walls but since I needed to get the images done pretty quickly I decided to get out my handy dandy pop up box. Inside my box I created a glassy look with a flyer holder, with a white piece of paper underneath. For lighting other than the room light of course I used a natural light. Which is a type of light that shows what an object would look like if they were standing outside. I popped it up and used it to backlight my light box. After a few tweaks of white balance I was able to capture a really great look. Of course with the help of photoshop I was able to really clean the images up and give it a more seamless look. Needless to say thank goodness for the gaussion blur tool!

Hope this helps if you ever need to photograph something inside, in terrible working conditions with little to no equipment around. (sometimes you just have to get crafty when your in a pinch)
